Pregnancy Discrimination

Pregnancy discrimination is a another form of discrimination that has to do with gender. Women are too often fired from or forced out of jobs when their employers learn that they are pregnant. If a woman is temporarily unable to perform her job due to a medical condition related to pregnancy or childbirth, the employer MUST treat her in the same way as it treats any other temporarily disabled employee. For example, the employer may have to provide light duty, alternative assignments, or disability leave to pregnant employees if it does so for other temporarily disabled employees. However, some employers force pregnant workers off the job by refusing to grant them these temporary modifications. Bearing a child is a blessing and pregnant women should not have to face loosing their job because of it.

  1. I totally agree with your statement. There are still sexist out there who believe men or more than women. That is crazy. America hasn't had its first woman president which shows that America is more buyers to men. Pregnant women should not be kicked out of there job.
